Tracking

A belt running 30 mm off-centre grinds its edge against the structure every minute of every shift. Edge damage is the most common belt death we see — and the most preventable. Self-aligning idlers where the belt wanders, and a monthly walk-down with eyes on the edges, cost almost nothing against a re-belt.

Cleaning

Carryback under the return run doesn't just make a mess. It packs onto return rollers until they run eccentric, which mis-tracks the belt, which grinds the edge — the failure chain usually starts under the conveyor, not on it. A correctly tensioned primary and secondary cleaner pays for itself in rollers alone, before counting the housekeeping.

Sealing the load zone

Spillage at the loading point undermines idler bearings and buries the tail pulley. Side skirts with the right hardness — soft enough to seal against the cover, hard enough to survive the material — close the gap. Ours run Shore A 50–65, cut to your chute, held as a stock line.

Lagging

A polished drive pulley slips; slip is heat; heat kills covers from the inside out. Diamond lagging restores grip and sheds water, and re-lagging at the first sign of polish costs a fraction of the belt it saves.
